Who They Are

Project C.U.R.E. emerged in 1987 after Dr. Jim Jackson traveled to South America as a consultant to the President of Brazil. During his visit, he toured a small medical clinic in Campinas, just outside of Rio de Janeiro. What he witnessed moved him to his core: doctors and nurses without resources to do their jobs, communities without access to basic healthcare, and people needlessly dying without hope.

Upon returning to Colorado, Jim and his wife AnnaMarie began to collect donated medical supplies to send to Brazil. Through the generosity of friends and acquaintances, they filled their garage with donated medical supplies and paid to deliver the life-saving items to the people who needed them most. And from that first humble shipment to Brazil in 1987, the foundation of Project C.U.R.E. was laid. Since then, the organization has evolved into the largest distributor of donated medical supplies, equipment, and services globally.

What They Do

With a network of over 30,000 volunteers and distribution warehouses in seven U.S. cities, Project C.U.R.E. delivers approximately three to five cargo containers each week, packed with essential medical items. These containers aid hospitals and clinics in over 138 resource-limited countries, addressing critical shortages and saving countless lives.

Project C.U.R.E.'s mission is to address the staggering health resource gap in underdeveloped regions, where over 2 billion people lack access to basic healthcare facilities. Providing healthcare professionals with the tools they need empowers them to treat diseases, deliver vaccines, perform surgeries, and ensure safe childbirth.

The organization operates with a unique model that focuses on collaboration and sustainability. Project C.U.R.E. carefully assesses the needs of its international partners through on-site evaluations, ensuring that each shipment meets the specific requirements of recipient hospitals or clinics.

Project C.U.R.E. reaches millions of people annually, with hospitals reporting increased capacity and enhanced capabilities to prevent, diagnose, and treat various illnesses. The organization demonstrates a holistic approach to addressing global health challenges, focusing on sustainability and its diverse programs, including C.U.R.E. Cargo, C.U.R.E. Clinics, C.U.R.E. Kits, and C.U.R.E. College. Through these initiatives, Project C.U.R.E. strives to make a lasting difference, fostering health and hope in communities around the world.
