Best Ever Cause: Adopt A Pit Rescue

Written by Best Ever CRE Team | May 1, 2023 6:18:28 PM

Who They Are

Adopt A Pit Rescue is the largest pit bull rescue in Ohio’s Miami Valley. The organization’s mission is to save, rehabilitate, and rehome dogs from local kill shelters.

The foster home-based rescue was founded in 2013 to rescue pit bulls and other "bully breeds." Since its founding, Adopt A Pit has found homes for over 3,400 dogs and currently has over 80 foster homes.

What They Do

Adopt A Pit rescues dogs that are from high-kill shelters, in need of medical attention, or lost. Through the organization, these dogs are able to live in foster homes as part of a family until they find their forever homes.

Any money Adopt A Pit raises through adoption fees or fundraising goes directly to the care of its dogs. The rescue supplies all the food and vetting the dogs need, as well as crates, leashes, collars, and even toys when there are enough funds. The organization is completely volunteer-run, and its director and fosters are all unpaid.

Volunteer

Adopt A Pit often needs volunteers for upcoming events as well as help transporting dogs to and from vet appointments. Email webadmin@adoptapitrescue.org to learn more about volunteer opportunities.
